This time around when I moved into our room and house, the carpet was terrible, so I had an excuse to rip it up and run the wires around the side of the carpet padding (which also needed to be replaced) and decided to build the baseboard around all the furniture, rather than having to be at the mercy of the baseboard for furniture placement. I ran all the audio cables for the sub along the wall then through a channel under the carpet to the sub, so there's nothing visible there, and there's enough room in slack to move the sub around a little if need be. Since it's my bedroom theater, it was a little tricky to move all the furniture to somewhere that would work. There's a store nearby that sells hi-fi equipment and I'm thinking of getting a new projector, but am so far happy with everything else. The only reason I want a new projector is because this one gets a wee bit loud when I'm watching things at a low volume.
The room is still in a state of mess, but everything's pretty much in place and everything's painted so you get the idea. I'll probably have it all cleaned up a week from now... maybe.
I built a stand for the center speaker and it's screwed to the wall, and I ran the wire up the back, painted it the same color as the wall and base-board and I'd say it's pretty well "invisible." I wanted as little attention to be drawn to it as possible.
and then my fridge rack, which stands over a half-size fridge and holds all the rack equipment. It's not quite the right width (little wide) but it works great and allows the fridge to be part of the furniture.
Eventually i'll make my own rack, but this one was only $30... so, I'm not complaining.
