Moved in to house with built in speakers

I am new to this and need some help setting up my basic system. I moved in to a house that has 4 wall speakers, 2 ceiling speakers and 2 speakers outside. I have 6 separate wires (each with a red and a black). I am also mounting my TV so that the wires will run thorough to the master bedroom to the receiver and all the guts (DVR, DVD, cable box, etc.) will all be in my master bedroom closet. I have a Yamaha HTR 3066 receiver and there are only hookups for 4 speakers but I have 6 separate wires. How can I hook up each speaker? I think that I can figure out how to hook up the other devices but not sure how to get each speaker active.

Thank you for your help

abc,
Welcome to the forum.
A couple issues in your description:
1) With 4 wall, 2 ceiling, and 2 outdoor speakers you should have 8 pairs (red/black) of wires to connect, not six.
2) Your HTR 3066 has the ability to power five speakers (Front L/R, Center, and Surround L/R), not four.

Need additional information on:
1) How many rooms are the 4 wall and 2 ceiling speakers in ? (i.e. are they all in one room or in a couple rooms)
2) What is the layout of the wall and ceiling speakers in the one/other room(s)

Initial comments:
Your HTR 3066 is designed to power the five speakers listed above in one room.
The 3066 has an audio out which can be connected to a separate 2-channel amplifier/speaker selector OR a multiple-channel amplifier to power the outdoor and any other-room speakers depending on your answers to the questions above.

Cheers,
