I'm just about finished with all of my audio set up and have yet to mount my dipole speakers on my walls. The brackets that came with my speaker require anchoring into a stud, and this is not an option for me. The speakers way 14 lbs each, and Omni Mount has one that I like that will hold up to 20 lbs. It is the type that has an arm and allows adjusting the speaker up or down. I will have to drill holes into the back of the speaker to attach the arm. Generally speaking is this a good way to go?

Are you sure you have to drill a hole in the speaker? Usually smaller speakers have a bolt hole in them so they stay secure to the stand.

I think you'd be better off getting a shelf rather then mutalating your speakers.

What make/model # are your dipoles? Most have brackets already installed.

Your JBL dipole 810 speakers are 14lbs. each. These drywall anchors are rated to 50lbs, and should do the trick. I'll send you a pm as well.
