Hi all !
I have a pair of bookshelf speakers (Dali Blue 2002 each weighs around 20 lb) which I would like to mount on both sides of my LCD TV in the bedroom above the built in closet. I need to mount close to the ceiling and point them a little down on the angle).
I already have two unused LCD arm mounts and I wanted to utilize them for this purpose - as additional benefits it can also give me a lot of freedom, since each arm has 3 pivot points and can extend as far as 18" from the wall, rotate and tilt. They can hold more then 40 lb, so its safe. That way I can place them far from wall not be too boomy.
My question is - in term of sound quality - is it OK that speaker sort of "suspended" in the air and not attached rigidly to the wall ?
I am not an audiophile, but just curious if such a "soft" mounting can degrade sound vs more "rigid" attachment (directly to the wall or very short arm with no pivot points). I actually saw some mounts (Allen Mount system where speakers are suspended on cables, which is even "softer" then arm with multiple pivot point.
What's your opinion ?
I thought that the wholepoint of spikes on floorstanding speakers is to avoid speaker movements, so same thing should apply to bookshelf - is it correct ?
Thanks in advance
