Motorola DVR and HDMI or DVI - ???

Hello all...
I have a Motorola 6412 III DVR box - My box has the HDMI output. My TV has a HDMI input AND a DVI input. Should I use the HDMI out to HDMI in or get a HDMI out to a DVI in cable? Reason I ask is that I have read a few reviews that said the HDMI causes the systems to lock up?
Any advice is appreciated!!!

PS also, is there any inprovement over the components cables?

I would try the HDMI first. I try to avoid converters whenever I can... If you are really concerned about it, buy the cable from someplace with a good return policy like Radio Shack.

I have the exact same box as you, I am using the HDMI output to my TV and I have had no problems so far...so go for it.

Thanks guys... I just ordered the HDMI - from what I heard, it seems to be more of an issue with a long run. I ordered the 1m so I should be ok
