I my name is jake123 and i have a problem. I discovered that i have to go to the AA's. That's right Audioholic ananymous and it aint pretty. Since my girlfriend is fed up of me talking to her about receivers and stuff like that i had to turn to you guys. Finally somebody that understands me.

5 month ago I bought my first receiver and i am so excited whith it that i cant stop playing with all it's button and function.

What i want to know is if later on i want to upgrade, can i buy more amplification and put it on my receiver and maybe get even better sound?

If so, how do i hook it up? and what do you guys recommend?

I have Kenwood receiver VR-8060, 100W*6 @0.09%thd
all paradigm speakers
Monitor 7 front
CC-370 center
titan rear
Sony grand wega

If the receiver has pre-outs then you can add external amp(s). As far as 'better' sound, that is debatable and you will get many responses - some for and some against.

Pre out is different from speaker out. After doing some researxh on your receiver. It does not seem to offer any sort of pre-outs except for the subwoofer.

Unfortunatley you will need to upgrade receivers if you find yourself needing more power in the future. If your room is small and you dont play things real loud this receiver should serve your needs.

If you do upgrade. You might want to go with another brand since Kenwood is no longer in business.

Kenwood home audio isn't going anywhere. Someone will make an offer, and buy the division if this article is legit. The same thing happened with Denon, Marantz, McIntosh. D&M Holdings saw an opportunity, and brought all of them back to life. Maybe Kenwood will soon be under their unbrella.

Where those companies ever in bad shape ? From what I can tell all these companies where in good shape. Especially Denon and Marantz. I could be wrong though.

It seems over the years Kenwood had been on a downward spiral. Especially the last 5 to 10 years. But you are correct in that someone will buy the naming rights if they have closed the consumer electronics division. But could this happen ? Even if Kenwood keeps the car division and communications divisions open. Maybe something has happened since the article I posted. The website does show some products still being produced in the consumer electronics division.

I apologize if I have jumped the gun and put out bad info.
