Depends on the bass management options you have in your player and how you set things up. If you set all your speakers to large, then they are all going to get the full signal.

I doubt the player has a LFE out, right?

The player has 6 analongs, 2 fronts,2 surrounds and 1 center and 1 sub.

This is one of the real problems with SACD and DVD Audio.

If your player does not have bass management and\or a digital link, you may be sending full range signals to ALL of your speakers (including your sub) via the analog outputs.

Not a good thing.

You will find a good article written here at Audioholics on the subject.

That is why I have been waiting for Denon to make a univeral player with DenonLink, that costs less than the 3910.

I may have to wait until they release a HD\universal player.

I am hoping CES will release news that will be music to my ears.

What is the crossover set to in your player? My player won't allow me to adjust the crossover, and I think it's around 100Hz.

I have my receiver set at 60Hz, after some extensive testing of speaker and sub placement. Your mileage may vary. I would try not to go above 80Hz. This seems to be the accepted boundary for human hearing of low frequency direction and a THX standard.

Unfortunately, the 3805 does not have more incremental crossover settings.

My player has the bass management but no x-over setting. I also noticed a DTS Disc using the player analogs sounds pretty good, just playing around.

Westcott, I use my receiver's crossover (my player is connected via digital) and cross over my speakers at 80Hz.

Most likely that sub out is powered with DD and DTS as SACD and DVD-A don't have a sub channel, yet. So, it would depend on bass management in those modes or with the component itself.
