more newbie problems

ok so i had my speakers hooked up to a pioneer sc-27.i just got am emotiva xpa-2 amp and now when i play a known song it sounds as if instruments are missing,something is definetly wrong.overall the sound is like an echo or acoustic type effect any ideas?

We can't see your set up. How do you have everything connected?

ahh i'm so stupid the amp was set to bridge,whatever that does. when it's off it sounds normal,ty.
