Hey everyone, new to the forum, was curious if anyone can tell me about the monster streamline 100 speakers. I really don't see that much info on these speakers other than that they are made by a company that many people are not happy about. Any info would be appreciated thanks DANO

well i'm sure that they're overpriced as they come... but..

monster's headphones ain't bad... they definitely know something about sound quality. I'd trust these over Bose, at the very least.

The Beats are no better than the Bose Quiet comfort, they are both bass heavy.

At least Bose doesn't go around suing everybody.

I'd stay away from them. Even with disregarding the fact that they are monster, they look very cheap, and probably sound very cheap. They provide no real measurements.

They also retail for 600, yet selling for 185 new a pair from monster on amazon. Looks like theyre having a hard time selling them.

This is taken from the manual (which contains no useful information):
• Electronic protection for the tweeter and the woofer
• Magnetic shielding to allow placement near electronics and AV components
• Absolutely flat frequency response
• Wide horizontal dispersion for full and flat frequency response throughout the entire room
• Controlled vertical dispersion to diminish ceiling and floor reflections and provide precise imaging
• High power handling 200WRms Max/200Hz for safe operation with powerful AV Receivers
• Removable side panels in 6 different (silver, red, yellow, dark cherry, maple, black) for easy change of color and style to match your home theater’s décor
Absolutely flat frequency response? I'm sure...

I'd consider them if they were internally wired with anything other than MonsterCable.

With Monster Marketing, I'm really surprised that they don't advertise that the sound arrives so lightning quick that they could break the space time continuum and show many many youtube clips of their engineers showing with their "truthful" equipment that there is no other speaker made in the history of speaker building that can compare and with every purchase, Noel Lee will personally hand deliver them to you and offer a reach around after the transaction takes place.

I have personally heard Monsters Tower speakers (built upon their specially designed subs) and although they look nice, It's kinda like a chick you met after having one too many, yeah after the beer goggles have been put on, she may look nice, but you sure as heck don't want to hear what she has to say and the next morning, you sure wish you could just take the whole thing back and erase the memory from existance but much like the tunderhog you wake up next to, with the speakers, your family and friends will never ever let you live it down.

Buy something else.

Thanks for all the info guys, I can say that I have had the chance to listen to them set up to a Denon with Panasonic BD player and they didnt sound to bad. Down her in FLA, Brandsmart carries them. They have them @ 298.00 a pair. They immediately dropped the price to 198.00 when I mentioned I could pick them up online for 184.00.
I 'll admit that I am a novice at the whole home theater setup but I 'm a quick study. This all got started with my fathers day gift, Samsung 60" LED. Next came the Yamaha rx-v667, which I love for the price @ Brandsmart.
I currently have some old Yamaha NS-A635A bookshelf speakers with a Yamaha YST active servo sub. Slowly but surely I will change the fronts and sub. They don't sound bad but they are 16 years old. If it was completely up to me, I would have pulled the trigger on the polkaudio floor speakers last week but my better half was not convinced. She like the cinamates from Bose but thats not happening. So, once again thanks for the info and I'll post back when all is said and done............DANO
