Don't have a Monster, I have an APC Line-R that stays on 24/7. At least a couple pieces of gear I have require it. Even though they are "off" they are still drawing current. My CRT RP keeps juice flowing so it doesn't take 5 minutes to "warm up", and my S-VHS VCR (through which my DirecTV receiver is routed) reverts to composite input if it loses power for more than a few seconds.
Some of your gear may have similar low-power needs.
