I am now a proud owner of a Interlink® Datalink™ 100 Low-Loss S/PDIF Style Digital Coaxial Cable; whatever the heck that means. This is my first Monster Cable purchase and boy am I proud...lol....

Sorry but it cracks me up that I bought a Monster Cable; that is one thing I never thought I would do. I got it at Comp USA who is going out of business down the street from me. It was listed at 59 bucks and I got it for 3 bucks. I dont see any reason that would prevent me using it as a sub cable since I need a shorter one anyway.

$3? I'd buy it in a heartbeat at that price. Monster does make good cables, they just aren't worth the normal prices they charge for them.

Exactly.

I would have bought all they had but I dont really need them. You want me to pick some up for you?

I agree with MDS and with J_Garcia 100%. Monster's cables are good, but all the Monster MSRPs are horribly inflated. If I found Monster cables for just a few dollars, I'd buy a slew of them. Good find!

I went back last night in order to buy what they had left and it was all gone...oh well.

I may not be a true audioholic as I only scored a 70 on the test and then this morning I ran to my dealer and was thinking of grabbing an amp, backed out, ran to the tire store and bought new Continental ContiTouring Contacts and had the oil changed. I think a true audioholic would have gotten the amp and ran the tires until he could see the cords!

FYI, certain cable designs are directional. The shield is usually only connected at one end in these types of cables. ;)

Greg,

As a professional, also agree with all. No shame to buy good cable, just stupid to pay exorbitant price. (and, just to soothe my conscience, although it has been said often: Do not let yourself be bamboozled by the low C-L-R hype; not to repeat details).

For fear of those not liking Monster, just paint over the name, or better still, put a sticker over it with a new, never-heard-of name; then you will see jealousy!

And my test score...: 41. You are over-equipped!

J_garcia,
Huh?! (No, I don't have Monster. I buy my cable from Woolworths, except for RG58U.)

A true Audioholic would have sold the car to buy better speakers to go with the new amp. :p

I did the same thing at a CompUSA in Reno. The Monster speaker cables that were $110 a couple days before went for $15. :D
