75lbs, quite beefy. But for $2500 I would go for a Krell.

Considering that their cables are junk, and their "power centers" are junk, I'm going to go out on a limb and say its junk. I'd just as soon buy a big power amp from Bose.

Take a look at amps from companies that actually know a thing or two about building amplifiers, such as Anthem, Aragon, Arcam, ATI, B&K, BAT, Bel Canto, Bryston, Classe, Conrad Johnson, Krell, Lexicon, Linn, Mark Levinson, McIntosh, Myryad, Parasound, Pass Labs, Plinius, PS Audio, Sim Audio, etc.

More specifically, I'd personally recommend a Parasound Halo A21.

I have their 7000ss conditioner and the 2000ss. I do not have any of their amps. I run Proton D1200's. I like the stuff I have.

Just curious, but have you compared a Chang Lightspeed, Shunyata Hydra, or Richard Gray against the Monster? If not, try em, I think they'll make you want to sell the Monster in a hurry.

Wow. Pretty amazing logic.

Richard Marsh, the designer of the Monster Power Amps is a very
well respected Amplifier Designer well known in the industry.

Their cables certainly are not junk - WAY overpriced certainly - but not
junk. I paid about $300 for a powercenter which has a lifetime warranty.

I guess no one has any experience with this amp here.

I just picked it up "open box" with full warranty for $750 (I don't know
where I will use it yet but for the price it was hard to pass up ).

I'm sure it's a solidly built amp. And as far as big Bose amps go...their older amps were frickin' beasts. They'd crank out 1000w unclipped.

I want one of those Mark Levinson monoblocks that can crank out 1000watts! Plus they look REALLY NICE!

tdeluce, i've heard monster amps are solid performers, tho i have not personally listened to one. For that price sounds like no brainer. Let us know how it compares to the outlaw and cinenova if you get the opportunity.

Dave, pretty harsh words for monster!!

I am not sure when I will get to hook it up. I am probably going to
use it for a stereo based system down the road. The Cinenova Grande
offers a great deal more power making it more suitable, in my opinion,
for movie soundtracks.

The paltry 400 watts rms in 4 ohms from the Monster Amp is more
suitable for music and do not want to waste such an amp on the
surrounds.

For those interested in damping factor, Monster claims a damping factor
of 600.

It has digital meters on the front of the amp which shows instaneous
power readins so that you can see how much power the amp is drawing
at any minute.
