Apparently didn't make the cut, and have been eliminated from their lineup.....too low a demand to keep around per Monolith. Did anyone around here buy one?

That is a shame. The drivers used by the Monolith subs are so high-performing that they would have worked very well in a sealed enclosure and would not have been as inhibited as most. I think one part of the lack of sales of the sealed Monoliths is that the people who are looking for sealed subs are doing so in interest of higher WAF, and so the sub needs to look nice too, however, they have the same styling as the ported subs which was somewhat crude. My guess is that they would have sold better with a more refined look.
