Every winter I play a PC game. This winter will be Mass Effect 3.
The cheapskate in me wouldn't allow me to buy it until it was under $29.:D
What are you guys using for monitors? Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Rick

Hey, Rick. Are you asking what video monitors we use, or what we use to monitor game prices?

Sorry about being vague.
I was asking about video monitors.
I have 2 GeForce GTX 670's in SLI and was thinking of upgrading my Dell monitor (2407) to something better.
Also was interested in what you guys were using.

Thanks!

Well, you definitely have me beat! I'm using an HP ZR22w monitor. I'm also gaming (and I use that term loosely) with integrated graphics on my Core i3, but that's fine for StarCraft II. I started doing that when I got this all-in-one Dell. Before that, I was using a graphics card in my HP desktop that does much better, but that computer is louder.

I have an Apple Cinema Display 27". Doesn't have the best specs and it's most likely overpriced to many, but I love it and have never experienced any issues gaming or otherwise (not that I game all that much on the computer). The added extras are nice as well with the automatic light adjustment, camera, mic and built in speakers.

Out of every monitor I've ever seen the higher end Dells have always looked the best. Haven't gotten much chance to game on them, but they do seem to be fairly quick. Monitor specs are nice, but like any other spec they seem to be often misleading and sometimes downright lies.

I have an HP LP3065. 30", 2560x1600.

Once you game on this, you will never go back to "high definition" aka 1080p.

That's the display in my iMAC, and I gotta agree. Overpriced? Maybe, but nothing else looks as good, so is it overpriced? IMO, if you want the best this is it until further notice.

I thought you would use your TV screen. I'm not a gamer, but I know the guys really into it like to use their AV systems.

I think my grandchildren are eying my new construct for gaming.

Not gaming, but this is what I built it for. It should be good for gaming though.

Sounds like a project up your alley, Rick.

I have two Asus 24" 1080p monitors mounted above my desk. I love multiple monitors and if I had room I would have three monitors.

There are a few Korean monitors using the exact same panels as the Apple Cinema Displays for a fraction of the price.

They're only available on Ebay right now but rumor has it that Monoprice is going to start selling their own branded version.

i use an hp 2509b, and i really like it other than the fact its a tn panel which kinda sucks... but its color accuracy and contrast ratio are really good apparently. and its pretty looking. although im not sure if the price is really worth it. i got mine for $250 on boxing day but they are regularly something like $300-$350. also its 25" which may or may not be a good size for you.. but i would recommend getting a 2560x1600 monitor if you are gonna be sitting close to it. i want one but if i get one it wont be my main display because unless it was like 40" i just wouldn't be able to notice all the detail in games... it would be a waste. even with this one i usually have to zoom in to about 150% on most webpages... i really wish i would have saved my money for a bit longer and just gotten a 30" 1080p tv...

its a good monitor though if you need a 1080p 25" one.. but it might be a bit too pricey for your liking.. and since your computer could handle it, i really do recommend 2560x1600 display
