Monitor(I pod) speakers can be hooked on A/V receiver?

I got These Monitor(I pod) speakers in Garage sale(specifications below).
Can I to use these on my A/V receiver (Impedance 8-16 Omhs/100 watts for each channel)? rear set up..
The specifications said:Auxiliary input impedance >10 k Ohms..What is the mean
The Output power:18 W/ch@ 0.05% THD (both channels driven)..What is the watts? This can support the receiver?

Finally, I hooked both of these speakers on my rear channels and the sound is Impressive better than others that I have into my junk..But still i have the same unknown question.. Anybody knows what is the mean: >10k Omhs of impedance?
Can I to leave these and not overload My A/V receiver 8 Ohms of impedance?

That means they have their own built-in amplifiers and are meant to be driven by the headphone output of a computer or an Ipod type device which puts out a few milliwatts, not a speaker output from a receiver.
