They are not that cheap and there are many alternatives. Price doesnt matter if you can hear them before you buy them.

there are other speakers that com up when you search Monitor Audio...so you need to do some scrolling, but this should give you an idea what the different models are going for....and for those whom have a budget, and value their free time (no point in auditioning a 40k set of speakers), price does matter...

Sound City also carries Monitor Audio. I've purchased MA from them in the past and was very pleased with the price and service. Their website says some lines are for sale only in-store, that that's not strictly the case (you just have to speak to the right person).
