The battle continues...Are these brands of about the same quality and just have a different sound?? Is one of a higher quality?? Narrowing down in between the Paradigm 330's x 5 and the MA R225 x 5. I'm auditioning them both this week and wanted your expert opinions; thanks

Out of 10 responses, 5 will tell you Paradigm and 5 will tell you MA. It just matters which one you like the sound of. They are both very good speakers.

Paradigm vs Monitor Audio

That's what I was afraid of; I know I'm leaving a bad taste in everyone's mouth not going with tower fronts, but they just take up so much room and it would be nice to have all five speakers off the floor for more space....

Why would this leave a bad taste? :) Its your home after all. As far as quality goes, both are excellent speaker manufacturers. I'd also toss PSB and Totem into the mix just to confuse you even more ;). About saving floor space; between towers and bookshelves, unless your putting the bookshleves on shelves which is an acoustic no-no most of the time, the speaker stands would occupy the same floor space as a tower.

Hey Kliff if it works for you and you need the space, get them off the ground. I happen to like how MA sounds, but both are good reputable (reliable) manufacturers so listen to both and whatever rocks your boat go for it. I have Gallo speakers (rare in these parts,) I got them for two reasons, they sound good and they're small orbs so they fit into my space requirement, in my case getting towers would have been impractical.

Oh great, more options hahahha. Is there a really noticeable difference with flat panel systems vs towers or bookshelf speakers besides the mid range sound?? I was going to hang these on the wall so I didn't have to get stands; unfortunately, I am not running wires behind the walls of an apartment

Basically listen to all the speakers in your budget that you can, and decide based on what you like.

Like everyone has already said, both excellent speakers and it comes down to personal taste. I personally like Monitor Audio over Paradigms. Go with whatever sounds best to you this weekend. Can't go wrong either way really.

Yes, check them both out.
I recently changed from Paradigm Studio 40/CC570 setup to MA RS6/RS LCR setup. I am very happy with the new gear, I find the MA's to be more natural sounding with better detail. Others might feel they are to bright and prefer the warm mids of the Studio series.
Either way you will have a nice system, happy auditioning.

That's wild; I had the MA RS6s at the same time I had the Paradigm 40's and I found the 40's to be more natural with better detail. I dont know if the room made the difference or we just hear different things. That is exactly why everyone has to audition speakers for themselves.

Yep. It just illustrates the point that no 2 people hear the same thing from the same source. Was it you that wanted to hear PSB but can't because of the dealer not wanting to order in the more expensive models? If it is you and you do get the chance to audition them, I wonder if you'll like them.

Yes, strange indeed. But sure does help illustate the importance of auditioning.
On a side note, I upgraded to the 40's v.3 from 20's v.2 and was never as happy with the 40's.
