Any thoughts on MA rs6 vs. Energy rc-30 or 50, probably to be paired with an Outlaw 2150 receiver? I have heard the rc-50's in a store and liked them a lot...but the rc-30's are a little closer in price to the MA rs-6's. Have not heard the MA's but the reviews are very compelling. BTW, this would be primarily for 2-channel music, medium sized room.

I own the RS6's, and have heard the Energy's (in a dealer's sound room)... IMO, the RS6's are a relative bargain; terrific sound quality, detailed, terrific build quality. Some people find them bright; a friend of mine dislikes Monitor Audio, & says he finds the bass of the RS6 especially to be a bit on the boomy side (that is NOT my opinion). I've always respected Energy speakers, though I've never owned a pair...it just seems I always find something else I prefer when I buy speakers.

You'll just have to audition the RS6's to decide for yourself. Again, I think they are great, and to me, are a bargain as a sub-$2,000 speaker... My 2 cents...

Its hard to tell what you will like more out of the two but I will give you my opinion on the RS6...I was deployed for 4 months and everyday I would read about speakers, I really thought that the MA's would be the ones I would get because all of the good reviews I had read about them. When I finally got to go audition them in a dealers sound room I was a little disapointed, not because they didnt sound good but because I was expecting so much more from all the rave reviews on them, but I found they just werent for me and they were hooked up to some serious equipment.

I found myself infatuated with a pair of ERA D5's and found it no contest to purchase them, along side of a Pioneer Elite vsx92thx.

Hope this helps...

Both are excellent choices. I personally prefer the MA's, but only your ears will determine what you like. Give the MA's a listen and decide for yourself.

Seems like the only MA dealers in my are are installation guys with no showrooms where I can hear them. I will travelling soon, will try and find a MA showroom elswhere. Thanks for the suggestions, guys.

Era does make a tower the D14, but I havent heard it. I really think for the price the D5 just cant be beat though, the soundstage they throw and the imaging they produce are just amazing, and the amount of bass these things put out is awesome...I hope you get a chance to listen:D
