I have Monitor Audio RS6's as my front left and right, RS6 LCR as my center and 4 Monitor Audio Radio 180's as my surrounds (and a Velodyne sub) . (The surround RS6's were too big to mount on the pillars in my room). The amp driving this package is a Yamaha 2600.

Here's my question, the RS6's are 6 ohms, and the Radius 180's are 8 ohms....

How would you run this system and why???

Thanks, JR

how big is your room?
how far away are the speakers from the listening position?

just plug them to your 2600, leave the setting on 8 ohms.
set ALL speakers to small ... 80hz crossover

because it works best that way ... :)

I forgot to add that you should provide sufficient space above, behind and to the sides of your receiver so that it gets sufficient ventilation. an open rack with at least 4" space above the receiver should be sufficient.

if you have less than perfect ventilation, you can add some 12v PC fans plugged to the switched outlet of the receiver to help cool the receiver.

They are a benign load. Your reciever will have no trouble with them.

MIke....

Mike, the room is large. It's about 20 feet by 16 feet and 17 feet high. The RS6s and LCR are about a foot away from the walls and the 4 surround Radius 180s are mounted on the wall with the back of the speaker about 3 inches from the wall(using the wall bracket).

So, run them all at 8 ohms?

what about the distance of the front speakers to the listening position?

is the room open to other areas?

is your audio rack the open type?

if you set your receiver to 6 ohms, it will limit the power your speakers are getting, so I would think the 8ohms setting will sound better (while it's still running)
