Is anyone familiar with the Monitor Audio Radius 720 Subwoofer?

I just purchased and installed a Monitor Audio speaker system and the Radius 720 subwoofer keeps powering down to standby mode while in use. This happens when listening at anything less than significant volumes. I found that the amp will turn on again if I increase the volume way up.

I read from the manual that if the amp does not receive a signal of 4mv for 15-20 minutes, then it will go the standby mode. I guess this is part of the auto-on feature. My Radius 720 will go to standby generally within only a few minutes of turning down the volume.

I read the following last night on the Monitor Audio website under FAQ's

-My Radius 360/ ASW100 doesn't switch on until i turn the volume on my AV amp up quite high. Can anything be done about this?
- Yes it can. If you are a UK customer contact the factory (01268 740580), explain the problem and we can arrange to have your product bought in and perform a simple resistor modification. If you are over-seas, please contact your local store and they will contact their distributer. They will then perform this resistor modification.-

This seems to describe much of my difficulty with the Radius 720.
Why is this the case? Have any readers experienced this problem as well? What did you do to fix it?

I really like this unit and just want to get it to stay on so I can enjoy the addition of the subwoofer at something less than wall rumbling volumes. This is my receive and speakers for reference.

Yamaha RX-V2700 - receiver
MA Gold Reference 20 - mains
MA Radius 90 - surrounds
MA Bronze - center
MA Radius 720 - sub

I have changed the output level for the subwoofer from the receiver to see if that would help. It is only somewhat effective only when set to maximum (+10).

Any advice is welcome. Thanks.
