Mom Needs Help With Kitchen Setup

I need help finding a quality all-in-one set for my mom's kitchen. She wants something that will not take up a lot of room, has a multiple cd changer, AUX in, and good sound (obviously). She listens to just about everything (rock, classical, jazz, country, hip hop, etc). The new speakers will be mostly used to listen to classic-rock and jazz. We checked out the Bose Wave and thought the sound for the price was less than impressive so I am coming here for help. She wants to spend under $500 but is willing to spend a little more. We already have a nice speaker setup in our family room, this is for the kitchen so she can listen while she cooks so a remote is helpful but not necessary. I figured you guys know more than me, so please, help my mom.

You should place the speakers above the cabinets in the kitchen. Which music system have your bought and how did you arrange it in you kitchen? Can you show the pics?

That multiple CD changer requirement really limits your options. About all I can think of, besides that Bose, is a boom box.
