Mixing Speakers - bad idea

First, I am new to the audio world so if this is a dumb quetion i apologize. I just purchased my first home theater system last week - a denon receiver and 5 NHT speakers. The only problem i have is that my rear NHT speakers (SB2's) are bigger than i expected and to hang them from the wall would be an eye soar (my wife's words). I love the sound of the NHT but am going to have trouble with the rears - my room is not really set up to have the rear speakers on the floor or small mount. Is it possible to buy a different brand of "in wall" speaker to use with my three front NHT speakers (right, left and center)? Or would that potentially sound very bad - mixing speaker. If it is not a bad idea do you have any suggestions. thanks in advance

Your front 3 are the most important, and the most important to match. You might think about using smaller wall mount speakers, with 3.5 or 4 inch drivers. Mount them up high and angle them to point down towards (not at) your listening area.

I just took this at night, with my phone, but it gives you the idea:

I attached a pic, not sure if it's here.

Thanks for the feedback and the photo. Your speakers don't appear to be that far off the wall - a guy i was talking to about hanging the speakers had told me I needed the back of the speakers to be about 3 to 4 inches off the back of the wall. That coupled with the a speaker that is 7 inches deep had my speakers jutting out about 12 inches. If i can tuck the speakers in alittle tighter, i may try to use the NHT's.

Where is the port located on this speaker?

If this speaker is front-ported you can mount it very close to the wall; a rear-ported speaker needs a few inches to breath though and should be about 3 inches from the wall.
