Mixing Mythos with Rock Solid. Should I?

I'm building my second home media center (not quite a home theater but, close). This one is having a few bucks thrown at it. First the quick specs, then the question.

Video monitor: 50" Plasma
Receiver: Yammy RX-V2400
Speakers: 4 DefTech Mythos 4 (towers), 1 Mythos 7 (center), 2 DefTech Pro-sub 80, 2 (very old) Rock Solid (these involve the question to follow).

First, please don't lecture me about how I could have gotten better for less. The Mythos got sold to the wife as a design element that happens to have a speaker inside it. She accepted that and wrote the check.

Second, I know I am asking for a speaker layout for a room you have never seen. Just play along if you will.

Ok, the Yamaha is a 7.1 box. I pretty much have a 5.2 speaker setup without using the Rock Solids. I could use the Rock Solids as surrounds or for Presence. They are pretty good speakers and I keep thinking they are too good for Presence duty.

Soo, if I use the Rocks as surrounds should I use 2 of the Mythos towers as the side or back surrounds which would leave the Rocks to fill the other roll.

I will have shelves about 6 feet (2 meters) behind the theater recliners and could put the Rocks on those shelves which would be an easier sell to the interior designer (you know who).

Not that it means much but, I am a recording engineer as my second job. I know a little 'bout sound.

Thanks,
Perplexed
