Hello Folks

I bought a Mitsubishi HC 1500, a 30ft HDMI 1.3 cable and a new upconverting DVD recorder a few days ago. When I try to set the recorder up with the projector either with composite or the HDMI cable I get no signal on the projector. When I hook up my old DVD player with composite it works fine. A couple of times I managed to get picture with HDMI for only a few seconds and after that back to no signal again.

I tested to see if the recorder is a lemon by plugging it into my TV (composite) and it works. I am assuming that the HDMI cable is OK as I saw picture on the screen for a few seconds. What am missing?

Thanks
Any help would be appreciated.

Another bit of info...

I tried the DVD recorder with the projector thru component cables and it seems to work no problem.

None of this is adding up. Please help if you can.

Thanks

Sounds like a cable/connection problem.

What player is it? What cable is it?

I would first ascertain that the connections are good...hmdi tends to loosen itself. If that fails try a different cable.

Finally, since you have witnessed a glimmer of a connection, it sounds like a cable or booster issue rather than a handshake issue. That is, a cheap, long hdmi cable is prone to failure. A simple way to see if it is a cable length issue is to get an inexpensive 3' cable (they're about $5.00) and see if that fixes your problem. If so, you then need a better cable, a shorter cable, or a booster.

No Signal - Mitsubishi HC1500

Hello all,

I used to have an Infocus 4805 and had it set up to view HDTV and regular cable using a TimeWarner DVR-Motorolla Reciever. Recently the bearings in the fan burned up so I decided to replace the entire unit. I purchased the Mitsubishi HC1500. I connected everything the same as my Infocus however, when trying to watch television any channel, I get "No Signal" on the screen. Even my HD channels aren't showing up.

My connections are as follows:
(1) Cable into DVR-Motorolla Rvcer
(2) HD Cables from DVR to Yamaha Rcver (DTV/Cbl Slots)
(3) HD Cables from Yamaha Rcver (Monitor Out Slots) to Mitsubishi HC1500 (HD Slots)

NO SIGNAL

However,

When I use just a single standard video jack from the cable box(yellow vid out) to the projector (yellow video input). I can watch television.

I've got an Xbox 360 connected to the Yamaha and it works when I use the Yellow video jack but not the HD.

I've tried changing cables and nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?
