That is just stupid! Why didnt they just go up to the people that thought that this was an explosive and said "Uhhh....its not. Check it out!"?

How stupid can you get?

And I don't understand how this whole thing ties in with the hospitals and a freaking ROAD! What is the matter with people today?!

Hooray, people are seeing bombs everywhere now....paranoia wins again.

I guess from now on we need to promote things by means of one of the following:

1) a ninja jumps out of nowhere, throws 500 suction cup throwing stars at everyone, and vanishes in a cloud of smoke

2) Pirates pop out of the mall "penny fountains", and proceed to plunder and pillage the general vicinity, leaving on a pirate ship made from a bathtub, two broomsticks, a bedrrom sheet, and four skateboards.

So, what is it guys? Pirates or Ninjas :D

A few decades ago, this idea would have been a huge hit. Say in the early 80's if they had left cassette walkmen around like that...

In todays times one can not help but take the cautious approach. In todays world it was a dumb thing to do. Maybe if the players were not concealed in packaging...

As pennance

Tom Cruise should provide his own voice for the banned South Park scientology episode, and it should be aired for two weeks in a row, so everyone gets to see it.

btw, I saw his last movie, it was mediocre at best.

That is just stupid. Some people just don't think. Especially with terrorist attacks and suicide bombers being to popular these days.

There is a standard 300m standoff zone around a suspected IED. The hospital most likely was within the zone.

I don't see what the problem is. I think the whole idea was brilliant. If I was buying a newspaper and all of a sudden I heard the theme song to Mission Impossible, I would run, not walk, to the theater immediately!! Brilliant!!

This has got to take the cake in terms of idiotic ideas... I hope they are forced to pay for costs of the public services they initiated:

Of course, the worst part is that they GOT their precious publicity. I'm sure this will be all over the news in no time...
I think the original concept of having the theme music play is brilliant and a good marketing ploy. Where I start to question the intent is when my local paper showed a picture of the device hanging from the inside of the dispenser. It looked like a bomb, not like a cheap music making device.

Great marketing idea. Bad execution plan. Like or not we live in a society that is far more cautious than it was even 10 years ago. Having grown up in London during the IRA attacks I can relate to this. If something like this had happened in London they would have burned the company at the stake. Do I think it's a cool marketing idea? Definitly. Could they have disguised it not not look like a bomb? Definitly. This was just someone in the marketing department not thinking it all the way through....But would have been a damn cool idea. I wonder If I can get one off of ebay and put it in my desk drawer. Hopefully SWAT won't have to blow up my desk.
