As an M&K fan and owner of some of their gear, I thought I would pass this on to others. I found a place called 'deepsurplus.com' which bought most of their drivers, boxes, crossovers, and complete systems at the M&K bankruptcy auction. These are the real deal, so if you need a new tweeter, or if you want to build yourself some MPS1510's, they have the parts you need.

I realize that M&K lives on in name, but they don't offer the pro- level drivers, speakers, and crossovers (they seem to only be offering the entry level product which M&K had before going bankrupt). So if you need stuff for your higher grade older M&K's (think S150's and such), this link is your source.

Thanks for that link.

Something to be aware of: I saw this after the bankruptcy sale on AVSForums, one of the M&K techs in a few posts mentioned a lot of what had been sold was defective parts and stuff that failed in QC testing. Not everything at auction was of a high quality and allegedly a lot of the lots were mixed parts. Not trying to shoot these guys down, it's just something to be aware of when shopping for M&K parts.

That is good info to have.

From the looks of it, they are offering complete speakers which they have assembled with the parts bought at auction. I would be very leery of these, as they mix and match drivers and crossovers from different speakers. I would feel more confident buying parts rather than such speakers. M&K crossovers, for example, are extremely high quality, and they are asking less than it would cost you to get the parts yourself and DIY.

Some of what they got may indeed be defective, but some maybe not. I purchased a set of speakers directly from M&K immediately prior to their bankruptcy, and they are flawless. I doubt that they were depleted of good stuff at the time of bankruptcy, but anything bought from deepsurplus in all likelihood has not gone through M&K's QC.

Also, regarding the specific parts, the old M&K site which had specs is not available. If anyone needs anything, I would suggest contacting a former M&K person for confirmation that the parts are correct. Paging Barry Ober!
