Recently completely renovated my home theater from a Mirage based system to a matching M&K THX setup. The 550’s were the surrounds included in the original package I purchased and I used them for about two weeks until finding a pair of the M&K THX tripole surrounds on US Audio Mart which arrived yesterday. Each 550 uses a 5.25” midrange with a 1” soft dome tweeter. It’s a sealed cabinet with a curved and perforated metal grill which according to M&K is meant to be kept on during listening as in conjunction with the slightly angled tweeter provides more ideal dispersion. Both speakers are in 9/10 cosmetic condition and have no dents, scratches or dings with all drivers being in mint condition. They’re rated at 8ohms nominal with an 80hz-22,000hz frequency response and a minimum/maximum power rating of 25-200 watts. A pair recently sold for $325 shipped on flea bay so I’m looking to get $250 shipped.
