Miller & Kreisel S-100B Tweeter Question

I have a pair of these.

They sound excellent but I'm concerned about the tweeters. The tweeter in the middle appears to operate just like a tweeter should, but the other two seem to be much quieter and don't achieve the same high frequency. I'm assuming this has something to do with the design with the speaker but I can't find anything definitive on it so far.

Both of the speakers do the exact same thing (this combined with the fact they sound great leads me to believe this is how they are intended to work).

Other than a curiosity behind the design, why would you worry if they sound great?

I want to make sure they are working exactly as they should. Who knows, maybe they would sound greater if all the tweeters operated at the same level as the center one.

These are an online purchase, I just want to make sure they are working properly. I appeal to the knowledge of anyone who has S-150 or S-100b speakers.

Seth, it is hard to read the designer's mind. However my guess is they are designed this way.

These look like high powered speakers. I suspect that the outer two roll off around 4.5 kHz to avoid comb filtering peaks and nulls.

It is the lower ranges that blow tweeters. So this arrangement would greatly increase power handing, without upsetting the frequency response, as it would if there were all in Parallel.

I have done similar arrangements with line arrays. I was trying to explain this concept the the EMP designer at SOTU, without success. There were far too many drivers in the speakers I heard, interfering with each other like crazy and I was unimpressed.

I'm happy you posted TLS guy, my mind is at rest and I can go on listening to these speakers in bliss knowing they not only function correctly, but sound great as well.

Another speaker that does something similar is the Dynaudio Evidence
