Holy CRAP...

And I thought my Logitech system was nice. That's the finest, probably highest dollar PC setup I've seen. I really hope you game on that thing (I suspect you do...) and your MP3s are encoded at the highest bitrate possible.

Did you buy new to build that system, or is this the "retirement villiage" when you upgrade your main home theater?

that looks NICE!
you must have some of the nicest equpment in the world at your house to have those RTi4's and the CHT-15R on computer duty. :D
"1 terrabyte cumulative hard disk space"

I bought the rti4's new for the PC ... but the CHT-15R is just retiring there :)

I only play strategy games (zero hour, middle earth, warhammer) and I don't play online or with others ... I'm not good at all, even the AI beats the crap out of me.

I try to get 192kbps for my mp3's but that's about as HIFI I get.

wow, is that your case? liquid cooling! if the tubes spring a leak or something, does that mean your boards go byebye? and of course the water pump burns out (my other hobby is koi in fish ponds)
If tubes somehow leak then everything in the case will get soaked. Although, I've seen this happen to a couple of people and they let the components dry for a couple days and then they worked fine after that  And if the pump burns out I have the computer set to auto-shutdown if the CPU gets too hot. But between the Tygon lab-grabe tubing and Iwaki pump (built like a tank) I'm not especially worried about either of these happening. I would be a lot more worried if I was using some garbage Koolance or Thermaltake BigWater kit

BTW, if it looks like the tubing is about to come off of the pumps outlet in the picture, its not. That's 7/16" tubing over 11/16" fittings, I had to soak the tubing in boiling water for a couple minutes just to get it loose enough to go on that far. Even though it's barely on, I couldn't pull it off even if I gave it all my strength. If I ever need to replace the tubing I will need to cut it off ;)

EDIT: Water cooling is just the beginning of alternative means of keeping your computer cool. I suggest you check out the cooling section of XtremeSystems if you want to learn more:

Some of the more elaborate phase change coolers these guys build are really works of art:

actually, I don't need the cooling part of my PC case ... I just like the looks :) my room's AC is on most of the time the PC is on, and nowadays, I barely have time to use the PC at home. the wife says I need 8 hours of sleep. :(

gone are the days I can finish a strategy game the same day I bought the game. now I need 3-4 days just to finish a mission (thats without doing anything else: like movies and stuff)

long time no update ... quite a lot of changes are gonna happen ...
velo sub got sold, harman receiver got sold ... i was making do with an old integrated amp and no sub  (because the old integrated had no pre outs)

so im choosing a sub between the two on top:

and then, im gonna use this mixer with either the TCA Gizmo or Behringer A500.

His ransom is sending us all one of his subs right? I think that's fair if he's going to start looking into Polk subs ;)

forgot to put in the mopads :D

Behringer Xenyx 1002 pre-amp/mixer
Tweak City Audio Gizmo integrated amp
Polk Audio Rti4
Auralex Mopads
Sennheiser HD555
Viewsonic VX2255WMB 22" LCD
Thermaltake Armor Super Tower Casing
2.14hz Intel Core 2 Duo
3GB RAM
Geforce 7600 GS 512mb
1.9 terrabytes cumulative hard disk space

sub still pending

also found out that the mixer gets warm (i will never turn it off, no off button, but i don't have intentions of turning it off as well)
and the router and modem can cook eggs when stacked. no wonder routers are vertically placed so they can get rid of the heat from the sides.
im temporarily using the laptop cooling pad to get some space underneath the mixer, and to further incline the mixer, i have a PC fan running 24/7 under it, until i can get a long enough USB cable to turn on the laptop pad's fans everytime the PC is on.
