thanks, will try it louder.

I found the best location in my room due to the room eq wizard :) its easier moving the axiom sub than this DD, the SPL meter has paid for itself already :)

I think the peak increases as I mess with the EQ sliders ... will take a pic of the eq'd thingy (I do have 2 sliders boosting 6db each at 15hz - i dont like seeing that drop to 77.5db :) )

You may want to re-think those 15Hz boosts. They won't buy you much and waste amp power in the process. If I were you I would just try a few movies and music at these baseline settings and then tweak.

my dd eq'd without the 15hz boosts

no more need for a buttkicker

the axiom ep500 as a couch shaker

the DD is calibrated to be 2-3db's hotter than the other channels ...
when the axiom is also ON, the sub channel becomes 15-20db hotter

Mike,

Looks like your getting there. The Velo EQ is easy to use, provides instant feedback and it will show you the effect of your other subs. When I had the Fathom F113, I ran the Velo Sweeps with the DD-18 muted and was able to see the house curve of the Fathom pre and post EQ. Very nice.

Is the EP-500 co-located?

no, the ep500 is about a seat away from me, the DD is on the same line as the front speakers ... the EQ pic above only shows the DD ... I also muted the DD to measure the EP500 but I already knew the EP500 was pretty linear most anywhere I put it ...

when measured at the same time ... of course, the graph gets messed up (not being co-located and all)

I have two other options for this EP500 in the same position ... speaker level connection instead of LFE for EITHER the fronts or the SURROUNDS

the box with most of my stuff I sent home from canada just arrived!

dvd's (ones I didn't bring straight home)

i hate it when the dvd's have foreign language translations ... can't the french print their own dvd's (or in this case, french canadians)

cables (hey, I like the looks of these guys - and I had nothing to buy from costco, so I grabbed these and a maxtor external wireless HD that I don't now know why I bought it)

So the air conditioner on the wall makes me wonder if this setup is in an apartment and if so... I want your neighbors for neighbors, I live in a town home and mine *****. I dont even have a sub?!
Nice setup though, those rear mounts are beautiful!

i dont have neighbors. or at least neighbors I care about. :)

Mike, how long have you had the Rotel equiptment and what was the deciding factor for the purchase.

about a year.

I decided to pick up the 1066 for my dad's pipe in music (60w x 6) and discovered that in bridged mode it can give serious power (180w x 3).

I decided to pick up the 1077 because of size/space concerns and because of its mininal heat. and the good reviews from htguide forum users about its great performance for music.

hi starcraft, I'm very happy about the performance of my setup right now ... I can't believe a simple solution is all I needed to get "into the action" ; moving one of the subs near field to me and my couch has added so much to the experience.

I'm gonna try to turn the nearfield OFF and then increase the DD sub volume to be about 10-12db hot
