I’m looking for critiques / suggestions for a dedicated home theater. While I’m not a blue-blood audiophile, I love good music played over good equipment. The sad reality is that my HT will probably be used 75% to 80% for movies. I have a windowless 13.5’ by 16’ room prewired for 5.1. I estimated total “cubes” at just under 2,500.
For L / R / C, I’m looking at either the B&W Signature 7NT (L/R) plus a CWM Cinema (C), or the RBH MC-83 for all three channels. Am I wrong in thinking that in-wall / on-wall Axiom doesn’t compete here? For these three channels, I MIGHT consider floor standing. Also, how important are the factory provided “mounting boxes” for in-walls?
I’m sure I want in-wall / on-wall for my surrounds, and am leaning towards a monopole / dipole “switchable” unit such as the B&W CDS6 S3. The RBH surround option is not switchable. Obviously, I’d ensure that the entire 5.1 system was from the same manufacturer.
For subs, I’m considering a single B&W ASW 650, but could easily back off to a 600. The RBH option is a TS10-AP.
There is an adjacent but separate game room, when sonic quality is less important, but that’s not to suggest I want crap in there. This room would be Zone 2, and would be two ceiling mounted speakers. I’m open here.
Oh, I'll probably run a Denon 4306. Thanks!
