My current speaker system I'm working on will be a electronically crossed one with four separate amps. The mid bass will be the low end of the two separate speakers, and will be in a tuned ported enclosure rolling off naturally. Deep bass will be handled by two Goldsound 1240 12 inch DVC woofers electronically crossed at about 80-100 hz.
My question is the characterisitics I should be looking for in a 6.5 to 8 inch mid bass unit that crossed upper at about 375 with a 24db electronic cross. High Xmax? Very low Fs? Over 100 EBP? Anything else?
Impedance and phase shift is not really an issue due to the use of a separate 4th order elkectronic cross with an amp just for this 375hz and down frequencies.
