Hi, This may seem like a odd question but I was planning on getting a new mic
Sony ECM-DS70P Electret Condenser Stereo Microphone
(not allowed to post links due to the 5 post minimum so just add the www(dot) to the begining of the link
)
amazon.com/Sony-ECM-DS70P-Electret-Condenser-Microphone/dp/B00006HOLL
the problem is that it says Plug-in power operation, I am not sure how much power it needs
I have a audigy 2 zs sound card and the mic port gives off about 5V when I test it with my multimeter and only does mono sound (i don't need stereo anyway since skype will be used )
I used to have a Logitech USB Desktop Microphone which I promptly returned to amazon because the sound was flat and had a really poor range compared to my cheap $1 home made mic basically a mic unit from radioshack, soldered to a mono line-in cable
