Hi, I have just bought one of these to use with my flat screen tv, Its supplied with red/ white cables and 1 spdif cable. I set it as the manual said firstly using red/ white audi on sound bar into the back of my tv audio red and white sockets, Turned on the sound-bar digital display comes up and you can move the volume up and down but no sound comes out, I then tried the other connection the digital cable from the sound-bar to the back of the tv but still no sound, I even tried it on another tv but the same happens, Am I doing something wrong or is it a faulty sound-bar, The normal tv speakers work ok, Thanks for your help I bought a Microlab S325 sounbar

Just a guess, but you may have to turn off the TV speakers in order to enable the audio outs.

Thanks hicks, for your help, Not sure how you turn the speakers off. I have a Toshiba tv under the sound settings it only has volume and balance etc, but no mention as to turning off the tv built in speakers, I normally have this set to around 40 and use my icecrypt to set the volume

Welcome to the forum! Did you toggle between the input selections on the sound bar?

This is more of a curiosity - the manual that I found for the Microlab S325 doesn't show an optical input, but there are places selling them with images of one. Does the back of yours look like this?

the digital on the sound bar is the little black bit that comes off and they supplied the cable that fits from the sound bat to the port at the back of the tv same as the picture, but even trying that no sound comes out ive tried both the input sockets red/white both the same no sound
I was told all you have to do is fit the leads from the sound bar to the back of the tv and it should work and override the naff tv speakers that are built in. The digital display come on the vol goes up and down, you can change the inputs using the remote or the top of the sound bar but still no sound comes out, even putting the vol to its limit you don't even get any hum noise, this is why I think the sound bar is faulty, I have tried it on 3 different tvs, no sound using either the digital or r/w inputs. Thanks for your help

Microlab S325

Plug the digital cable into the satellite box not the tv. The digital point has the red light just push it in. It took me 2 days to suss.
