Anyone who’s seen him perform live can tell he has a kind, quiet personality, and I don’t think he’ll ever be accused of having a great (albeit unique) voice. From the beginning, he simply knew how to write great music and find the best producers and musicians to bring it to life. Michael Franks is one of the only vocal artists whose music catalog I own in its entirety, and that’s a big admission from a jazz guy who basically doesn’t like vocals!

Real cutting edge review- that's been out longer than most guys here have been alive!:p Still it's good to see some other fans of Franks out there. My personal favorite of his albums is Dragonfly Summer.

This guy's been around since the 70s? Funny I never heard of him.

I really enjoy "BURCHFIELD NINES". We saw him last year at the Bichmere in No. Va. a great show, nice tight band, very good sound for a club.

Now that is a cool album to just chill with in the evening, lights dimmed, with a nice glass of black sambuca on the rocks.

I discovered that album has a very nice effect when played as a "night cap" to a nice romantic date;)

I hate to agree with you, but you are right. At least he did on his old albums. He looks more normal now. I do think he has a major foot fetish however {ie. Popsicle toes) :)

Yeah it is a little late for this review, I thought at first it was a new SACD review. I bought this CD in 85 new, however, it is good stuff.

Its never too late for a review. Music doesn't have an expiration date like food & cars. :)

Easy guy, especially since she will be attending CES with us and will likely be monitoring the site.

Best Michael Franks albums

So far the best albums are "Sleeping Gypsy" and "Tiger in the Rain".
President and moderator: Listen to these two. You will love them.

Another vote here for Sleeping Gypsies. Larry Carlton has some of his better guitar solos on this album. Me Bwana' (He no home) is a hilarious song.
