High - I didn't know where else to post this question. So here it is.

What makes some people on here audio samari's, others enthusiasts, other members, etc etc etc? It seems like it is the number of posts. Just a curiosity.

Yep - number of posts. But in some cases (employees and mods) they are handed out.

Yes, it is the number of posts and that makes it a rather imperfect indication of one's knowledge of the topics being discussed. See Mr. Andry's editorial about forum posters as that article pretty much nails it.

Someone with a high post count may be a relative expert or may be one that adds a lot of 'me too' drivel to threads. Over time, you learn the posters whose information can generally be trusted and of course you should always follow up with additional research anyway. I say 'generally trustworthy' because nobody is perfect and even the old hands learn new things from other posters from time to time.
