Those are fine looking speakers at a great price. I wish I were in the market for a set. I enjoy the MBQuart speakers in my 4Runner. Can you give us a little review of their floorstanders' presentation and compare with other speakers you've had? T'anx.
I find it impossible to explain. I have the 830's. All I can say is, they sound like MB Quart. You know, like B&W sound like B&W. They are very clean, crisp, tight, punchy, and beautifully built. Just suberb mids and tweets for a .1 system.
My last pair of home speakers were purchased new in 1985. CV D-7. I was a teen, and they rocked the party. I still have them today. That was before I got into car audio, and found A/D/S. A/D/S was my brand of choice for mids and tweets until MB Quart came to my dealer. I had never heard any speaker with such detail in my life. I used MB Quart in my '85 Toyota Supra, '94 Toyota 4x4, '98 Chevy Silverado, and '00 Toyota Tundra. I am older now, and run the stock system in my '05 Toyota Tacoma.
I decided to build a HT in '03. I auditioned Klipsch, Polk Audio, Jamo, JBL, Infinity, Athena, Paradigm, Dahlquist, Monitor Audio, and B&W. It was frustrating until I got to the dealer with the MA's and B&W. I liked the high-end B&W, but that was out of my budget.(800 series) I found that I liked the RS(Silver) Monitor Audio better than B&W 600 series at that moment. I found MB Quart offered on the Internet, and pulled the plug in two days. I had an outstanding past with the speaker company, and didn't doubt their ability to build a superb home audio speaker. I was right. To my ear, they come close to B&W 700/800 series. The only speakers I have heard to date in the same size that can touch mine are B&W 703 and 804S. 703 retail for $1499.95ea. 804S retail for $1999.95ea. So, you can see why I am so passionate about my purchase. I paid $999.99 a pair for the 830's.
I could've purchased B&W 600 series(603S3), and Monitor Audio RS6(silver) series for the same price I paid for the Quarts. I would've had the comfort and security of purchasing from a local dealer. You can imagine how much faith I had in the company to purchase the entire system over the net without hearing them. Just flat-out superb mids and tweets, and they blow the 603S3's and RS6's off the map.
