Max size room for Sonance Virtuoso 831D speakers?

I looked through the manual sheet for the speakers and it doesnt have any room size recommendations so I am asking you guys here.... What would be the maximum size of room that the Sonance 831D speakers would be good for?

My buddy is building a new garage this summer and wants a stereo in it. He was wondering if the pair of Sonance 831d in wall speakers would be enough to fill it with music or not?

Any help appreciated...

Thanks

I guess I could give the garage size... It will be 30x36 with 14 foot ceiling... I am thinking that it might be to big for these speakers?? If so what would be a good setup for this?

Thanks

I wouldn't do it. Instead get these:
For only $54.67 each when QTY 50+ purchased - 8 Inches Kevlar 2-Way In-Ceiling Speakers (Pair) - 80W Nominal, 160W Max | 8 Inches In-Wall / In-Ceiling Speakers

If there are rooms above the garage, there will be significant bleed to the room above. Instead, you may be happier going with an in-wall speaker like this:
For only $78.59 each when QTY 50+ purchased - 8 Inches Kevlar 3-Way High Power In-Wall Speaker (Pair) - 100W Nominal, 200W Max | 8 Inches In-Wall / In-Ceiling Speakers

Either set of speakers is comparable in audio quality to the Sonance 831D speakers (which I've personally used and sold before) but saves a fair bit of cash.

I would probably go with two pairs which should be fine on any standard amplifier.

So your telling me a pair of speakers that cost $110 for the pair will sound as good as speakers that cost $600 for the pair?? That sucks as I have bought lots of Sonance Virtuoso over the years...

For a garage I think he is saying probably don't need top dollar speakers, nor really room filling capabilities in most cases. IMO, I agree with that too, unless we're talking about one of those garages with a kitchen and a lounge area...

I have Sonance Virtuoso in my living room but I would go with the one's the guy's said for the garage.

I would strongly recommend you do a sound comparison between Monoprice and Sonance... We aren't talking about fully built speakers in an enclosure, but in-wall/ceiling speakers and the Monoprice speakers sound very good in their 8" version. I would not personally buy Sonance again. On the other hand, I typically use floor standing/bookshelf speakers in more critical listening areas, but in my bedroom the Monoprice speakers sound every bit as good as the Sonance speakers I used to use for my stereo setup which is never played at high volume.

I just ordered 2 pairs of these for my Brother-in-Law. I also got their speaker selector since he is running a Denon AVR 2310 which only has 2 zones and we need 3 for this project. Have you ever tried this speaker selector?

For only $19.25 each when QTY 50+ purchased - 6-Channel Speaker Selector | Speaker Selector

I have not tried that speaker selector. I've gone to eBay and picked up Niles or Sonance stuff, and in the past five years I've only installed ONE speaker selector. Last time I needed several zones, I went with the Sonance 260x3 amp which delivers 6 identical channels at 60 WPC which is nice for identical distributed audio with volume controls.

Monoprice - you know, most of their stuff is decent at least. Read the reviews and at least understand they have a good return policy.
