He'll be missed very much. It saddens me that a lot of these older guys, the real innovators are passing away and I don't see the ranks being filled with the same caliber of musicians.:(

Agreed. You see very few mondo talented rock/jazz/blues musicians. Good ones just not great ones. I guess it's the flavor of the moment. Jazz and other proggressive music forms are being replaced in the masses by country and rap/hiphop. Nothing wrong with that if thats what the masses want but the true new talents don't get the spot light they did in the past...maybe again someday.

I've been listening to Sonny Rollins' "Saxophone Colossus" (w/Roach on drums) and Roach's "To the Max!" (double live album...wow!) a lot lately.
