Is it just me, or does anyone else here want to see Blu-ray fall on its face? I know it has better storage capacity, blah blah blah, but I get the feeling that Sony, Panasonic and the rest of the Blu-ray camp are the bullies here. Sony is still peeved-off about Beta, then its original video disc creation that lost out to DVD, and Super-Audio CD.
I think more people will recognize the name HD-DVD rather than Blu-ray. Most average Joes could care less about storage capacity. The formats should look and sound the same. The only issue I see going against HD-DVD is that Sony owns many of the major movie studios and you know they will never release any movies on HD-DVD unless Blu-ray completely flops (like Beta).
Anyway, my two cents. I'm hoping HD-DVD wins.
