material to isolate speaker from stand

I'm building my own speaker stands currently and I'm looking to put something between the speaker and the top of the stand. The stand top is walnut and the speak is an infinity beta 20 and I want to keep the speaker firmly in place and prevent any vibration. Any ideas? Links to materials would be awesome.

Use whatever you can find actually. Some old mouse pads with the picture torn off will work. I use that kitchen drawer no-slip stuff in my bedroom system and it works well without costing much.

I use Auralex MoPads on my front 3 in my main system, mainly because it allowed me to get the 4 degree angle on my center with them, but they are $40 a pair.

Small thin pieces of rubber or foam works really well.

I miss you my Beta 20s. You were good speakers while you lived hear. You should all be treated with very nice pads to cushion you from that very hard and cruel speaker stand.

yeah, I saw you sold them not too long after I picked up a pair, wish I could have picked yours up as they were quite a bit cheaper than mine were.

Blu-Tack if you want to spend $10. I didn't, so I use thin phone books.

Couldn't tell you if it works well for isolation, but I use 'Heavy Duty Velcro'. It cushions and helps keep my speaker attached to the stand.

I bought Blu-Tak type mounting putty at Staples. It was like $2. Holds my surrounds perfectly and comes off with no mess.
