matching surrounds for elderly Wharfedales and on a budget

Many years ago I dipped my toes into the surround sound arena. With a tight budget I purchased a Marantz SR82, Wharfedale Modus 0ne-threes for FR and FL and an Infinity Video 1. I made do with some ex Hi-Fi Pioneers for the surround. That has served me well for years with a big sound but sadly a small picture (28in TV). I have now purchased a new Panasonic projector and a second hand Marantz SR7500 (7 x 105W). With little money left I can't afford to upgrade the Wharfedales or the Infinity. However they have seemed to work together well anyway.
What I need is advise for the surrounds and back. For the moment I can't even afford a Subwoofer so the rest of the sysytem will need to be capable of providing the lower range also. I don't mind purchasing older equipement from ebay or budget but I don't know were to start.
I have taken advice from several Hi-Fi suppliers but as you would expect each has given a different answer depending on their own range.
Any suggestions would be welcome.
