I have Polk Monitor 30s for my fronts but I wanted to get a new center channel. Is it best to get same brand or can I mismatch, seems that some people do some don't .I was looking at a Klipsch SC-1 but wanted to know if I should get a Polk?I also just got these Monitors and now the store where I got them from has the the Polk R150s on sale and I could get 2 pair of the R150s for the price I paid for the Monitor 30s.Would I be giving up alot to go to the R150s,all around fronts and surrounds?

Most people will agree that getting matching speakers for the LCR speakers is important. Right now my speakers don't match, but I picked up a new center and plan on eventually getting speakers to match it. It will help keep dialogue smooth as it moves from one speaker to another. So I would say if possible get speakers that match, but if not it won't ruin your listening experience.

Pretty much anything will work for surrounds, but it is critical for the center and mains to match. If there is a change in tone during pans, it will stick out like a sore thumb.

It is critical to keep the centre the same as your mains...it will keep the sound timber the same. As for your surrounds fool around if you wish.
