Matching Aperion sub or an HSU?

So I'm looking into buying:
2x Aperion Intimus 533-T Towers
1x Aperion Intimus 533-VAC Center
2x Aperion Intimus 534-SS Surrounds (not 100% yet)

Should I buy the Aperion Intimus S-10 or the HSU VTF-2 MK3?
Both cost the same, question is which one sounds better together with the other speakers? With regards to Music and Movies: about 50% usage each.

Thanks for any comments.

You live in Ohio. You should go to the SVS showroom for an audition. :D

Don't know anything about Aperion subs. So I would say you can't go wrong with the HSU.

I actually thought about going to SVS, but then I realized that they are about 4-5 hours away from Cincinnati....

There's little to no reason to "match" your subwoofer with your speakers, unless aesthetics play a large role in your decision making.

I have read/heard little on Aperion's subwoofer offerings, but I can tell you HSU does have some excellent offerings and will very likely be the better choice here.

Both SVS and HSU offer high quality products at some of the best pricing available. The only way you'll likely do better than one of these two would be to build your own. If you do have minimal skills with power tools, you could build a high performance sub at just about half the price you're considering. Just another option... -TD

And your point? Don't be lazy. Get in the car and make a day trip out of it.

I'll tell ya if I was a 4-5 hour drive from them, I'd check it out in a heartbeat. Just from a curiosity standpoint to tour the factory would be the pretty sweet... -TD

It's not a question of laziness, it's more of a time and money issue. Maybe one day I will have time for this sort of stuff, until then reading in forums and stuff needs to do it. :(

I'd probably go HSU simply because they're always a safe bet. That's not to say the Aperion isn't great or even better, they make some great speakers, but HSU subs have never disappointed me.
