Martins Logans w/Klipsch Surround

I currently have Klipsch RF-5's for my mains and using Klipsch for my center and surround ( not sure of the model number but they are the middle line of the reference series ). I have a chance to get Martin Logans Vista series for about $2000.00/pair ( I think that is a good price ).

My question is how would they sound paired with the Klipsch surround and center? Is there a large tonal difference between the speakers? If they would not sound good together, would they sound good enough to get by for the time being and then slowly add Logans for the surround?

After a quick glance, that does seem to be the going price on the classifieds.

The biggest matching issue is the center speaker. If set on these ML's, I would in fact try with no center speaker, but running as phantom. The mismatch up front is most likely too much. But, YMMV.

Please note that 'stats love to have significant distance from the front wall, and any efforts to treat this front wall will pay immediate dividends. They also may or may not present a pretty difficult load, as a random guess, since these do not have the built in ICE amps that the Vantages/Summits get to enjoy.

If the room size is right, i agree about the phantom center. The surrounds will sufice. If you like the dipole sound go for it. What power will be running them? Imo you should give them the most power you can afford even consider pro amps to handle the load. The low impedence dips are in the upper Freq range so a 4 ohm stable amp will do.

I would never recommend mismatching the front three speakers in any HT system. I think the previous two posts covers any point beyond this I would make. :)

I have a 16x25x8 room with two entries for a hallway and stairs. I am using a yamaha rx-v3800 for the power. I totally forgot that ML's are 4 ohm...right?

If I had bought the center channel, it would be ok?

Some dip very low but the Point of the dips are not demanding of the amp. Id recommemd adding external althouth the yama will work in the short run. The nominal impedence is around 5ohm.

Tweeter has 30% off all of their speakers, and I thought this my best chance to upgrade from my Klipsch speakers. The problem is, I cannot audition them since they have sold all the amps connecting them. They also have Focal speaker, although I do not know what series they are but was told the are equivilant to the ML Vista's. What do you think between the two?

Apples and oranges
+1.

I would say the same thing, just within the lines of Focal. Last year, I found the Chorus to be ... ummm, normal.... but once you hit the Profiles... we are talking about bright and forward...

Moral of the story: It must be so tempting to land a good "deal". But you just gotta hear em first. Its too risky otherwise. Because even its a "deal", its still a chunk of change...

I say keep listening. Even if you spend several hundred more in the end, you will at least have some more peace of mind? Priceless?
