I recently got back from the Magnolia store by my apartment. Had a chance to listen to the Martinlogan Motion 12's. I have to admit i was impressed. I direct compared them to a pair of Martinlogan Purity's and they were impressive. I thought the soundstage was amazing. I didnt even need to be in line with the tweeter to get the best sound oddly enough. I'm 6'5", so standing my ear is significantly above the ideal plane for the tweeter. However, i couldnt hear a difference between standing and crouching. The highs werent as detailed as the Puritys' were, but the low end wasnt particularly different.
Overall, i have a feeling a set of the Motion 4's and the Emp tek tube amp might make for a pretty bad *** desktop system.
