Ok, folks, it's March Madness time. Time for me to fosake all but work and eating and stay glued to the tube. So who do you all think is going to take it all?
Remember 'Nova in 85? Georgetown thought it was going to be a breeze. What the Hoya's forgot was beating 'Nova three times (twice in the regular season, once in the Big East Tourny) was not automatic success. 'Nova did not lose those games, Georgetown just happen to win. Once by 1 point, Once an OT game by 2 or 3, and in the Tourny by 2. Bottom line 'Nova KNEW Georgetown. KNEW their weaknesses. And played them.
Hehehe, I actually had 'Nova winning in '85, just because how close they had played Georgetown through the year.
Fast forward to '06.
The script is who is peaking, who know's their foes.
Still working the brackets, but the rough sketch (subject to change off course
)
But I have DUKE from Atlanta region. Once Duke gets past LSU, who in the region is prepared to stop DUKE?
The Oakland region is going to have a Cinderalla. Memphis and UCLA are not likely to make it into the SWEET 16. Kansas is not worth a #4. Gonzaga is getting too much hype. That leaves #5 Pitt or lower making it out of Oakland. Being a Southerner, I would pick 'Bama. But a #10 seed? Not that big of a Cinderalla. So why not a Hoosier Cinderalla?
Minneapolis has 'Nova with BC waiting in the wings. Take OSU.
And in the Washington region. After Squeaky at UAB knocks off the Huskies in the send round. Illinois looses to the AF in the first round. the 'Vol's scrape by Winthrop only to loose their shirts to the Shockers. The only teams left are NC and MSU, and NC is peaking. Take NC.
Finals have OSU versus NC
and Duke versus IU.
Catch an idea here.
IU beats DUKE and plays OSU in the championship???????
or NC beats OSU and plays DUKE in the championship???????
Either way, Cinderalla is going to have a soooo much fun at the ball this year.
