Marantz are very nice receivers. Very neutral sounding. (means it does not color or add EQing to the sound of the amp) The Onkyo's usually add the most features. The Denon is a good all around unit.
Listening to me, Marantz,Denon,Onkyo
Features, Onkyo,Denon,Marantz.

Good Luck.

Marantz is owned by the same parent company as Denon.

I have the 7002 and am very happy with the power it provides, the features, and the appearance. The 6001 is a generation earlier (HDMI 1.2) and slightly less powerful (100wpc vs 110wpc), but I would expect to sound very similar.

I have an SR 6001. It's a very nice receiver. You need to look at what features are important to you and decide if this receiver will fit your needs. As far as sound quality goes, it's excellent. :)
