I recently picked up a Marantz VC4400 for DVD viewing. My TV is low-end, but new enough.
I have tried connecting the two components using RCA and S-Video with the same frustrating result. The DVD image doesn't display and the remote control on the television goes haywire.
The buttons on the remote stop functioning with the exception of the Video signal select button. This problem repeats although sometimes the channel or volume buttons work. The button failure doesn't always happen immediately, but it always happens.
To fix the problem I disconnect the components, unplug the TV, plug it back in and power it on.
I am eager to get the DVD working and any suggestions are very appreciated.
