Why is there so little information about this Receiver. I'm ready to buy, but there just isn't much out there. It has come down to the Yami 1500, Pioneer 1015 and the Marantz. Any suggestions??? Thanks for all your help.

Yeah, it's weird. If you go to the Marantz website and try to get the manual in pdf, you can't. I just bought one from ubid. I posted questions here first, plus read what I could from the site. Basically, I looked at it like this: on the site, Marantz says this is a $1300 receiver...my local dealer was selling them on clearance for $1000...I saw an opportunity to pick it up for $575 and figured I couldn't lose. So I did and haven't looked back. I've been more than happy with it since I got it.

I think it's been replaced by the 8500 (or maybe the 7500 is closer to it in offerings..I dunno), so maybe that's why it's hard to dig up stuff on. But going on what everyone said here, I figured it was a pretty solid unit. Marantz seems to have a history of building quality stuff.

Well, I won my bid on Compusa Auctions. E-bay and Ubid were getting pretty high but I was able to get it at CompUsa Auctions for $477, plus shipping was much less. I know I'll be happy with this...sure beats my 6 yo Sony.

Marantz has an extremely frustrating website to navigate and looooaaadddss ssoooo sslooooowww. Had a heck of a time finding authorized dealers on their site.

I was looking at Marantz, Yamaha, H/K 435 & 635, Denon 2105, and Pioneer.(uh 1014 or sumthin like that, hard to find info on it :p )

Had a lovely Marantz rack system once, it was a victim of divorce. Gee it was hard to part with that.....stereo..... :(

Went with a Yamaha 5760 because it was a good deal and I got it locally at BB. Some reviews have the Yamaha as "bright" but I'm loving it. Was using a Technicsaur (which served me well I confess- but hey it was "time" to change)

Congrats on your winning bid....I know you'll be tickled !
